Can MSDE and SQL 2000 exist on same box?

Want to Install WSUS with MSDE on a MOM server with SQL2000 SP4. Is
this practical/best practice? Any issues that may arise from this?
Anything that I should look out for? Thanks in advance.
Yes, one will the the 'default' server, and the others will be a named
'instance'. There may be (at times) several different MSDE (or SQL 2005
Express) instances on a server for various applications.

can I use report builder with SS2000 and RS2000

We're using SS2000 SP4, RS2000, VS2003.NET.
As I understand it, report builder will be installed when I install SS2005.
Would it be possible to use report builder from SS2005 with RS2000 and SS2000
or will I need to use SS2005 and RS2005?

2005 as its object/metadata store. Whether the database stays at 2000 or not
does not change licensing. Any box with RS 2005 requires a SQL Server 2005

install RS2005 to the same SS2000 server will it overwrite what is now in the
ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB databases? I don't know much about RS yet
but the developer used rds files instead of storing that information in the
db. I don't know how much difference that will make.

RDS files. They are with his project. If not, then I strongly suggest
getting them from the server (go to the properties of the report in report
manager to get the rds file and store it locally).

>>|||I see a SS Business Intelligence Studio on the menu. There are no
ReportServices databases when I open management studio. When I open Reporting
Services configuration under configuration tools on the menu it says no
report servers were found. I'll look on the CD again and see if I can install
RS2005.
