Can not debug component?

Who can help me?

I defined project properties:

Start action--start external program : dtexec

Action options--command line arguments: /f ***.dtsx (using component which i debug)

Configuration: active(debug)

I specified breakpoint

after clicking build,dtexec can popup but then generate error:

The following modle was built either with optimizations enabled or without debug information

C:\winnt\assembly\GAC_MSIL\***\***.dll

To debug this module,change it's project configuration to debug mode.

I have no idea about this,and i can find my dll file in C:\winnt\assembly,but no GAC_MSIL folder

Who can help me? Thanks in advance

Sounds like your project is set to produce a release build. You should change the configuration to be a debug build. The assembly folder is a real folder, with sub-folders like GAC_MSIL, but they are obscured by the "Viewer" trhat you see. This can be disabled, but I don't think that is necessary. I assume the DLL it refers to is one of yours, and that is what needs to be a debug build.

I'm sure it's debug option

Any other possible ? Thanks

Hi Andrew,

i got the same error message as well.

did you find a resolution to this.?

i've cheked everything,

it's set to debug mode, bin folders are cheked, and all look fine.

|||not yet,so frastrating|||

is it version thing?

mine is RTM 9.00.1399.00,develop edition

whatever i will download sp1

|||

Can you load the Debug->Windows->Modules window and see from what location is your dll loaded?

Then make sure that the dll at that location is the debug one.

Hope this helps,
Ovidiu

Can I shedule packages from C#.net

I want to know what is the schedule of packages. and be able to change them from my .net Program.

ThanksYou can use the SSIS object model to execute packages directly, or you can schedule packages to run through SMO with the SMO.Agent namespace objects.
It's documented here: ms-help://MS.SQLCC.v9/MS.SQLSVR.v9.en/smo9mref/html/N_Microsoft_SqlServer_Management_Smo_Agent.htm
Thanks,

Can I return a value in a variable from a SSIS program back to C# after the SSIS program is run

Can I return a value in a variable from a SSIS program back to C# after the SSIS program is run from C#?Yes - you can use the variables property of the Package object: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sqlserver.dts.runtime.dtscontainer.variables.aspx

Can I read what is in a SSIS variable from within a C# program that executed it?

Can I read what is in a SSIS variable from within a C# program that executed it?Sure, just check the variables collection after execution has finished.

Yes, it was pretty easy. All I needed to do was this.

Variables vars = package.Variables;

int rowcount = Convert.ToInt32(vars["count"].Value);

Can I move some column position by using SQL command ?

I created SQL table follow by XSD file

And when any users added new column to XSD in ordinal position = 3

But after my program successfully created new column, its position is the last position

What can I do ??

I suspect why I can't set it (I've looked for solution on MSDN already)

even though

We can see ordinal position by

this query

SELECT *
FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.Columns

What can I do for solving ?? Help me please

You're adding columns dynamically? They will go to the end and I'd be surprised if there was any way to change the position.

But more importantly, why are you adding columns dynamically and why do you care what position the columns are in? It makes no difference what the physical col position is in a table

Can I link to tables in an instance of MSDE from Access 2003?

I have a small program that linked to ACT! version 6 dbf files. I now have
ACT!7 SQL version. This uses MSDE. I need to link to the ACT! tables in the
MSDE instance. Any hints? ACT! technical help says I can not link. I
thought I would ask the real MSDE experts instead.

what do you mean by "link"?

|||Access/JET supports linked tables as does SQL Server itself. This is mostly
a matter of setting up the links from within Access. I have not done this in
years so I can't help with the current versions, but I don't see a reason
why it can't be done unless the ACT! database rights have been tuned to
prevent this.
