Terri|||Yep, forgot about that version. It used to be (SQL 7) you could install whatever version you want on whatever NT OS you wanted...|||I think SQL 2000 Enterprise can't be installed on XP|||I just wish they would updateChoosing an Edition of SQL Server 2000 to more accurately reflect the OS on which each can run The info in that document is invaluable, but the OS info is old.
Terri|||I have the Client Tools of Enterprise Edition successfully installed on my XP machine.
Or are you talking about installing the Server?
JK|||yep I M tlking about server|||Basically YES, YOU CAN!. Believe it or not I had my SQL Server on my XP Prof ed.
How come??? Well, I have 2 hard-drive on my PC, the first one I used XP and the second one I use W2k Prof ed (*dual booting) But I install the SQl Server on the XP hard-drive, and it works perfectly!!, It seems in SQL Server installation proccess they were scanning some unique file which is belong to the W2k files.
So the solution of your problem is try to put another hard-drive on your PC with W2k OS, then install your SQL Server on the XP hard-drive, after the installation you can return the W2k hard-drive. "Semoga bermanfaat!, Terima kasih."|||Of course, Yes. There is nothing wrong with SQL 2K server on XP Pro, I have done such install on my notebook, it runs perfect.|||I am Talking about ZP Home Edition|||Sorry Its XP Home Edition
